Let's see how shall i start this up.
Ok, let's ponder about some random thingy.
I was listening to a song by UVERworld ( A Japanese rock band ) named "Colors of the heart" (they used the American English spelling.. hmm) (BTW, for anime fans, this song came from the 3rd Opening of Blood+ anime)
Anyway, whilst listening to it to the 200th time (i repeat my songs THAT often), i started to notice this one line that they used that got me thinking. It goes:
光が強くなれば 闇も深くなる [Hikari ga tsuyoku nareba yami mo fukaku naru]
which ROUGHLY translates to:
When the light becomes brighter, so will the darkness become deeper
My thoughts at that time? How true is this?
OK, i first tried it by turning on my table lamp. Stupid, but somehow proves the point. The things directly beneath the light became illuminated, but the dark corners surrounding it became slightly darker (especially considering how there is something brighter now right in front of me)
Anyways, to what extent is this true? And if it is, why is it so?
If light is an illumination, why does darkness still lurk? Can it be said, as i touched on earlier, that the existence of something very significant will attract our attention, not only to that thing, but also towards the exact opposite of it? [Eg. you notice something is VERY beautiful, and at the same time, something else is VERY hedious. i don't know any other way to put this simply].
Another thing then. Can there really be light without dark? Does the fact that light only travels in a straight line and cannot penetrate opaque objects (thus creating a shadow, for those who are unfamiliar with science) also apply in the real-world with humans and their behaviour?
Oh wells. That's enough for now i guess? I'll see if i can make this activity a habit and continue on.
One more thing though... another thought i ponder upon...
Is whilst pronounced "whilst" like whilstle? or While-st like... while-st?
